Local cueist Aakash Mohapatra won the title in the 25th State Senior Snooker Championship, defeating Subrat Das 6-4 in best-of-11-frame final at Cuttack Club here today. This was the maiden state title for Mohapatra whose earlier best performance was a place in pre-quarterfinals.
Earlier in the semifinals, Das drubbed Siddharth Sen by 5-1 frames, while Mohapatra routed Rakesh Roshan Pradhan by identical margin. Billiards & Snooker Association of Odisha (BSAO) organised the championship from November 8. As many as 36 cueists have joined the championship.
All trophies of the silver jubilee edition of the State Championship was handed over in the presence of BSAO secretary Srimoy Kar, Cuttack Club president Raj Kumar Santuka, secretary Dr Devanand Mohapatra and organising committee chief Govind Sharma.
